High Bioavailability

Turmeric has been used in Asia for thousands of years and is a major part of Ayurveda, Siddha medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and Unani medicine. It was intially used as a dye, and then later, for its supposed properties in folk medicine.

BWN Formulation – Bioavailability Improvement

Smaller Particle Size

300-600 nm*, easier to pass epithelial cells, better absorption ratio

Hydrophilic Surface

Avoid rejection of epithelial cells, and degradation in body

Hydrophobic Inner cavity

Connect with curcumin by Van der Waals forces, rather than chemical reaction, without changing chemical structure

Non Sensitized Vector

Avoid uncomfortable intestine caused by Tween 80

Curcumin Content :10%, 25%

More catalogs, higher curcumin content, meet customers’ various demand

RESULT:

A greater amount of molecules are transported through the stomach to the upper intestinal tract and absorbed into the body through epithelial cell membranes.

Low Bioavailability of Curcumin

Curcumin poor systemic absorption is a well-recognized phenomenon.

A study reported utilizing radioactively labeled curcumin indicated that
curcumin absorption was limited to 60–66% regardless of curcumin dose.

Studies reported Curcumin was poorly detected in tissues after oral
administration and only 0.006±0.005 μg/mL was detected in serum.

Causes of Low Bioavailability

The low bioavailability of curcumin is primarily caused by three factors:

Low aqueous solubility
P-protein in Intestine will exclude hydrophobic substance

Fast degradation in Body
Under PH7.4 condition, curcumin will quickly attenuate

Extensive metabolic conversion
Curcumin will convert to curcumin sulfate and glucuronide curcumin, with lower bioavailability

The main curcumin metabolism organ is intestine
